About

Charlene (Cat) Therien is an award-winning polymer clay designer who specializes in millefiore (mill-fee-or-ee) canes. These canes aren’t for walking; they’re rolls of Fimo clay artwork, similar to a christmas candy.

A design is built out of Fimo Clay and formed into a log, called a ‘cane’. When the cane is sliced, the design is revealed. Slice after slice, the design is the same, through the entire log. People who make crafts, scrapbooks, greeting cards, and miniatures use our Fimo clay slices in their artwork.

Cat began making intricately designed Fimo canes in 2003. She has since developed a thriving millefore business, and you can visit her main website at http://www.catherienarts.com.

In 2008 a nail technician from Texas, USA, contacted Cat and asked her if she would make Fimo nail art canes for nail technicians. Cat agreed, and her business increased a thousandfold in a few short months. Soon she was filling wholesale orders for beauty supply distributors worldwide.

Cat is a member of the IPCA (International Polymer Clay Association), and founding president of the Central Illinois Polymer Clay Guild. Her work has been featured in multiple magazine articles and in the gallery of a book on miniatures.

She lives in Peoria, Illinois, with her husband of 26 years, Allen. They have six grown children, two cats, an iguana, a boa constrictor, and a tank full of freshwater fish.
